Meet Darin Tompkins
Raised in rural northeast South Dakota, Darin grew up working alongside his father, an electrician and volunteer firefighter, and learned the value of hard work, accountability, and serving others. After earning degrees in Microbiology and Biology, he spent over 30 years in science-based manufacturing—rising from quality control to lead an animal health vaccine plant for 12 years. He didn’t get there by talking — but by solving problems, leading teams, and getting things done.
Darin stays active in the community through volunteering with Habitat for Humanity, food drives, and Eagle Scout projects—hands-on work that builds strong communities.
Why Now?
Nebraskans deserve leaders who listen, lead with common sense, and honor the will of the people. Darin is running because working families are stretched thin, skilled trades and small businesses are overlooked, and politics often blocks practical solutions.
As a bold newcomer, Darin brings fresh perspective, practical leadership, and Nebraska common sense to Lincoln.

He understands the regulations, permits, and tax policies that make businesses choose Nebraska — and he’ll use that expertise to strengthen communities, support hardworking families, and keep our economy growing for the long term.
Expanding Access to Affordable Healthcare
Every Nebraskan deserves access to quality, affordable healthcare — no matter their zip code or income. Rising medical costs are squeezing hardworking families, small business owners, seniors, and vulnerable populations, forcing too many to choose between paying bills and getting the care they need.
With over 30 years of experience solving problems at all levels of management, Darin knows how to bring people together, cut through red tape, and get results. He’ll work to lower healthcare costs, strengthen rural healthcare access, and protect coverage for families, seniors, and those with preexisting conditions.
